LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville women's soccer program officially opened the 2010 season with its Kickoff Dinner last Friday night at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Louisville.
Brandi Chastain, the 1999 Women's World Cup hero for Team USA and an Olympic gold medalist, was the featured guest at the inaugural event. With a crowd of more than 150 , the event featured an autograph session with Chastain, dinner and entertainment as well as a silent auction. The event also included the official introduction of the 2010 Cardinals.
Louisville will open its 2010 season on Friday at 7 p.m. ET against Eastern Kentucky at Cardinal Park.
