LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Louisville women's soccer team's 2010 "Battle of the Bluegrass" showdown against rival Kentucky will be televised nationally by FOX Soccer Channel. Kickoff for the game is set for Thursday, Sept. 9 at 8 p.m., ET at Cardinal Park.
It will mark the third time in five seasons Fox Soccer Channel has televised a Louisville home game and the fourth time in five seasons the Cardinals have played in front of a national television audience. In 2007, Louisville earned a 3-0 win over Rutgers on Fox Soccer Channel, while in 2006, the Cardinals defeated Cincinnati 4-1 in their first ever appearance on the channel.
Louisville will open its 2010 home schedule with an exhibition game against Tennessee on Saturday, Aug. 14, at 7 p.m., ET at Cardinal Park. Admission will be free for the game, which will be preceded by a free soccer clinic with Louisville players from 5 to 6 p.m. The Cardinals' regular season opener is set for Aug. 20 at 7 p.m. ET against Eastern Kentucky at Cardinal Park.
