LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Louisville women's soccer team will closeout the 2010 regular season with a pair of BIG EAST Conference road games this weekend at Seton Hall and Rutgers.
The Cardinals will open the weekend on Friday at 7 p.m., ET against Seton Hall in South Orange, N.J., before finishing the weekend on Sunday at 1 p.m., ET against Rutgers in Piscataway, N.J.
Louisville (9-7-0, 3-6-0 BIG EAST) enters the weekend in fifth place in the National Division of the BIG EAST Conference with the top five teams in each division qualifying for the BIG EAST Championship. Friday will be the sixth meeting all-time between the Cardinals and Pirates with Louisville holding a 5-0-0 advantage. In their last meeting, the Cardinals earned a 3-2 overtime win over the Pirates on Oct. 23, 2009 at Cardinal Park.
Rutgers enters the weekend at 8-8-1 overall and 3-5-1 in BIG EAST games. Last weekend, the Scarlet Knights lost to Syracuse on Friday before earning a tie against St. John's on Sunday. This Sunday's game will be the sixth all-time between the Cardinals and Scarlet Knights with Rutgers holding a 3-1-1 advantage in the series. Last year, the teams played to a 1-1 tie in the regular season finale on Oct. 25 at Cardinal Park.
The 2010 BIG EAST Championship is set to begin on Thursday, Oct. 28 with first round games at campus sites, while the quarterfinals are scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 31 at campus site.
