The official NCAA Championship psyche sheet was released by the NCAA office. The SEC BIG EAST runners-up Louisville Cardinals will be sending seven swimmers to the 2009 Men's Swimming and Diving Championships March 26-28 in the Texas A&M Natatorium in College Station, Texas. The seven swimmers to the NCAA Championship represents the most U of L has sent to the post-season in school history.
"Louisville swimming continues to reach new heights," said U of L head coach Arthur Albiero. "Having seven swimmers invited is a testament to our hard work. This year we send a lot of experience along with some freshman who are hungry to compete with the best in the country."
Seniors Vali Preda, Adam Madarassy and Alex Sweet will be joined by junior Carlos Van Isschot with freshmen Brendon Andrews, Carlos Almeida and Pedro Oliveira rounding out the contingent.
The U of L's post season participants will represent seven of the nine BIG EAST swimmers, with Cincinnati and West Virginia each sending a swimmer.
U of L's 200-medley relay and the 400-medley relay teams will compete as well.
