Adam returns to the Cardinals as a 2008 Beijing Olympian, where he competed for Hungary after qualifying at the National Trials in the 100-meter fly. He was one of the seven Cardinals who went to the NCAAs as part of the relay teams. He swam both the 200-medley relay (14th), 400-medley relay (13th) in the butterfly leg. He anchored both the 200-free relay (15th) and the 400-free relay (16th). In the 800-free relay, he swam second in the B-final and finished 16th. He had a blazing BIG EAST where he won the 100-fly with a BIG EAST record time of 47.62 and the 200-fly with a BIG EAST record time of 1:44.52. He was also a member of the BIG EAST championship 200-medley relay team. In the 400-medley relay the Cardinals finished first and set a conference record. He also used his freestyle talents as the anchor of the BIG EAST Champion and league record setting 400-free relay team. As a sophomore, Adam helped set the school record in the 400-medley relay and the 400-free relay at the BIG EAST Championships. Also at the BIG EAST, he finished second with a NCAA B-cut time in the 200-fly. At that same meet, Adam also made the B-finals in the 500-free and 100-fly. He represented the Cardinals with his participation in the US Open in 2007. He swam for Hungary at the World University Games in Bangkok, Thailand. He swam at the European Championships in the summer of 2006, which were held in his hometown of Budapest. He did not swim for the Cardinals in 2005-06. In 2004-05, Madarassy finished ninth in the 200-fly at the 2005 NCAA Championships. After qualifying 18th, the Hungarian native powered to ninth with a time of 1:44.17 which made him the fastest freshman in the nation that year. At the 2005 Conference USA Championship, he won the 500-free, the 100-fly, the 200-fly and was a member of the winning 800-Free Relay team. He came to Louisville with a wealth of international experience. He was third at the Hungarian Olympic Trials in the 200-fly and at the European Short Course Championships in Dublin, Ireland, he was 16th in the 200-fly and 24th in the 200-free. He attended Kolcsey Ferenc Gimnazium.
