LOUISVILLE, KY - The University of Louisville women's soccer has announced that the team will play six matches this spring, including three at Cardinal Park in Louisville.
"We are excited about our upcoming spring schedule," observed Head Coach Karen Ferguson.
"All of our opponents will challenge us and prepare the team to play in a an elite conference next fall," Ferguson added.
Louisville enjoyed the most successful season in school history in 2004, sporting a 12-5-3 mark in the final season in Conference USA. U of L will move into the BIG EAST this coming fall, a conference that placed five teams in the NCAA tournament, including 2004 National Champion Notre Dame.
The Cards will open the spring with a home match against Indiana on March 25th at 6:00 p.m. The team will travel north to West Lafayette, Indiana the following weekend where they will face Purdue and Milwaukee-Wisconsin on Saturday, April 2nd.
The Cardinals will welcome back their soccer alumnae for a match on Saturday April 9th at 2:00 p.m. in Cardinal Park.
"The alumnae game will be a great event. I'm looking forward to catching up with some of the former players. It is a wonderful way to stay connected with all of the past players and keep them involved with the program," added Ferguson.
U of L will host Miami(OH) on Wednesday, April 13th before closing out the spring in Cincinnati at the Blue Chip Showcase where they will face Xavier.
The fall of 2005 schedule has not yet been finalized, but the Cards have scheduled August exhibition matches at home against Nebraska and Kentucky.
