Junior: Sachs led the Cardinals divers throughout the year, despite being in his first year as a transfer. At the BIG EAST Championships, Nik placed 8th in the 3-meter competition with a score of 276.50 and won the consolation finals in the 1-meter competition with a score of 253.90. Sachs also competed in the exhibition platform diving events which won with a score of 286.80. His scores throughout the season qualified him to compete at the NCAA Zone C meet. At zones he finished 48th on 1-meter and 21st on 3-meter. Sachs consistently led the Cardinals throughout the dual meet season, finishing as the top Cardinal in most meets. He swept first place accolades on both boards against Cincinnati and finished third in the 1-meter competition against UK.
Sophomore (at South Carolina): Sachs competed at the SEC Championships and finished 22nd on 1-meter, 25th on 3-meter and 23rd on platform. He earned a victory on the 3-meter board at East Carolina with a 317.03 and had his high 3-meter score of the season come against Clemson (318.53), where he finished second. Sachs was runner-up on the 1-meter board versus Western Kentucky with a season-high 298.20.
Freshman (at South Carolina): Sachs qualified for NCAA Zone B regionals and barely missed scoring at the SEC Championships, finishing 17th on both boards. He won the 1-meter event against the College of Charleston with a score of 300.53 and notched his top score on the 1-meter board with a 307.20 at the Gamecock Invitational. He also posted his top 3-meter score (321.25) at the Gamecock Invite. Sachs was named to the SEC Freshman Academic Honor Roll.
Prep: Sachs was a member of the Austrian National Team, where he was a national champion as a junior and a senior. He qualified for the European Junior Diving Championships.
Personal: Son of Andreas Sachs and Brigitte Sachs-Schaffer. Born Oct. 20, 1990. Major is economics and finance.
