As a junior, Johanna was a BIG EAST finalist as a member of the 200-medley relay team that set a school record for the second straight year. She was also on the 200-free relay team that finished fourth at BE. She also ,made the B Finals in the 100-breast. In 2005-06, Johanna helped set both the the 200-free relay school record at the BIG EAST and the 200-medley relay for the Cards. During the regular season last year, she had lifetime bests in the 50-free against Cincinnati and 100-free best against WVU in early February. Her 58.83 time in the 100-fly was set at the highly competitive Indiana Invitational. She came to U of L from Sweden midway through the 2004-05 season and immediately helped set the school record in the 200-free relay and the 200-medley relay. She finished fourth at Conference in the 100-breast. She came to U of L from Blackesburg Gymnasium (High School).
Personal: She is the daughter of Erkki and Anna Nyysti. She was born Feb. 20, 1984. She is majoring in management.
