Sophomore: Lloyd played a strong role for the Cards throughout his sophomore season. He qualified for the NCAA Championships as a member of the 800-free relay. At the championships, he finished 50th in the 200-IM with a time of 1:49.53, 47th in the 200-free, and swam the third leg in a time of 1:38.33 on the 14th place 800-free relay. At the BIG EAST Championships, Lloyd was an All-BIG EAST performer. In the first session of action, he split 1:37.46 as member of the winning 800-free relay that set new BIG EAST and school records. Individually, Lloyd finished seventh in the 200-IM, ninth in the 200-free, and thirteenth in the 100-free. His time of 1:37.50 in the 200-free and 1:48.91 in the 200-IM were good enough for the NCAA B-cuts in each event. Lloyd recorded a third place finish in the dual meet victory against No. 11 Indiana and a fourth place finish in the dual meet victory over Notre Dame, each in the 200-free.
Freshman: Lloyd was an All-BIG EAST performer as a rookie. He had a solid showing against West Virginia, where he finished third in the 200-free with a time of 1:42.10. During the BIG EAST Championships, he competed in the 100-free, the 200-IM, and the 400-free relay. He swam the third leg for the 400-free relay and had the second-fastest split (43.96) in the field, helping the Cards to a racewinning and school-record time of 2:54.04. In the 200-IM, Lloyd had a time of 1:49.93, good for a sixth-place finish. In the 100-free, he came in seventh with a time of 45.04.
Prep: Albert comes to UofL from Springfield, Missouri where he swam for Wendy Shepard at Central High School. Albert won the MSHSAA State Championship in the 200 IM with a time of 1:52.71 and the 100 breast with a time of 57.30 in 2009. He was All-American along with MVP and Captain of the Central High School team.
Personal: He is the son of Bert and Christa Lloyd. He was born on April 20, 1992. Major is political science.
