Bio
2024-25: At the South American Championships, Matias was fifth in both the 100M free (55.02) and the 50M free (25.11) and was 8th in the 200M free (2:05.82). At the ACC Championships, he was 22nd in the 200 free (1:34.88), 25th in the 100 free (42.80), and was on the 200 free relay (1:16.83), the 400 medley relay (3:04.53) that finished eighth and the 400 free relay that finished ninth (2:50.41). During the dual meet season, he helped the Cards win the 200 medley relay (1:29.01) and the 400 free relay (3:01.97) against Xavier. Against Indiana, he was sixth in the 200 free (1:35.87) and fourth in the 100 free (43.24) and was on the second-place 400 free relay squad (2:51.08). At Missouri, he was third I the 200 free (1:35.64) and fourth in the 100 free (43.67) and was on the both the third-place relays. In the rivalry match with Kentucky, he was second in the 100 freestyle (43.74) and third in the 200 free (1:36.25) and helped the Cards win the 400 free relay (2:52.51). In the meet with Tennessee, he was seventh in the 50 free (20.17) and fifth in the 100 free (43.26). In the meet with Purdue, he was third in both the 100 free (43.34) and the 200 free (1:36.42).
2023-24: Matias went to NCAAs as a freshman and swam on the 14th place 200 free relay (1:16.15). At the ACC Championships in Greensboro, he was 35th in the 50 freestyle, 37th in the 200 freestyle and 23rd in the 100 free finals as well as being on the fifth place 200 medley relay squad. During the dual meet season, he won the 50 free and was second in the 100 free on his very first competition as a Cardinal against Xavier. He competed at the prestigious SMU Classic and was part of the winning 400 medley relay and the 800 free relay squads. He was fourth in the 50 free (19.97) and seventh in the 100 free and was on the second place 200 free relay team. At Tennessee, he was on the winning 200M medley relay team (1:39.85) and was second in the 100 free and third in the 50 free. Against Notre Dame, he helped the Cards to victory in the 400 free relay (2:58.18) and was third in the both the 100 free and 200 freestyle. In the meet with Missouri, he was on the the winning 200 medley relay and 400 free relay teams.
Prep: Matias won bronze at the Argentinian National Championships in the 4x100 Medley Relay. He competed in the Pan Am Games in the 4x100 medley relay and the 4x100 free relay. He won silver in 2023 at the Argentinian National Championships in the 200 free. He won gold in the 100M at th Argentina Championships.
