Junior: Addison was the runner up in the 100-breaststroke and took third place in the 200-breaststroke to gain All-American Conference team honors at the American Conference Championships. He competed in the 200-breaststroke at the NCAA Championships with a sixth place finish in the consolation finals. His time of 1:54.89 puts him 19th overall, with the top time being 1:49.38. Bray also competed in the 200 free with a time of 53.30 which put him 21st overall. He also competed in the 200 IM with a time of 1:48.24 with a 54th place finish.
Sophomore: As a sophomore, Bray had a breakthrough year in his breaststroke events. Bray won the 100- and 200- breaststroke at the Purdue invite in 53.72, and 1:56.64 just off his prelim time of 1:55.82 respectively. Bray competed at the BIG EAST Championship for a 2nd place finish in the 200- breaststroke for his best time of 1:55.74 earning Bray an All- BIG EAST performer recognition. He also swam the 100- breaststroke for 4th in 53.66. Bray was also a part of the BIG EAST Champion 400- medley relay splitting a 53.44. Bray qualified for his first NCAA championships swimming the 100-, 200- breaststroke in 54.23, 1:57.40 and the 400 medley relay swimming the breaststroke leg while splitting a 53.33 to earn 18th . Addison was named to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll.
Freshman: Bray added depth to the Cardinals breaststroke group as a freshman. At the BIG EAST Championship, Addison competed in the 200-IM, 100- and 200-breast. In his first BIG EAST race, he placed fourteenth in the 200-IM and recorded a personal best time of 1:49.88. In the 100-breast, he set another personal best in his first BIG EAST Final with a time of 54.25, which was good enough for third place. In the 200-breast, he placed fifth with a best time of 1:57.84. Addison was named an All-BIG EAST performer. After the BIG EAST Championships, he competed at the Ohio State Last Chance Qualifier and topped the time he set at BIG EAST in the 200-breast with a 1:57.57. In the fall, Addison captured his first Olympic Trials Qualifying time at the Tennessee Invite in the 200-breast with a time of 2:18. 24. In the double dual meet against Cincinnati and Eastern Michigan, he posted two second place finishes in the breaststroke events and a third place finish as a member of the 200-medley relay team.
Prep: Addison Bray joins the Cards via Terre Haute South High School and Coach Jeff Thompson's Terre Haute Torpedoes. A five-time high school All- American, the breaststroke specialist was runner-up at the 2010 Indiana High School State Meet in the 100-breast after posting the fastest time of the meet in the preliminaries (55.17). He won the consolation finals of the 200-medley relay at the 2009 state meet and currently holds the 100-breast record in Indiana. A member of the 2009 National Select Camp, he chose UofL over Auburn, Indiana and Tennessee.
