
- Louisville finished 27th in the nation in the Learfield Directors’ Cup standings, the 14th consecutive season that the Cardinals have finished among the top 40 teams in the country. The Cardinals’ women’s sports programs ranked 14th in the nation in the Capital One Cup standings.
- Ten University of Louisville athletic teams posted a perfect score in the most recent single-year Division I Academic Progress Rate (APR). The 10 sports with a perfect 1,000 APR score for the most recent 2022-23 data include men's basketball, women's basketball, men's cross country, field hockey, men's golf, women's golf, lacrosse, men's tennis, men's track and field and volleyball.
- UofL finished the 2023-24 campaign with nine different sport programs ranked in the top 25 at one point during their seasons, with 11 earning trips to the postseason.
- UofL's student-athletes combined to produce a 3.311 GPA for the 2024 spring semester, marking the 27th straight semester with a department-wide GPA of 3.0 or better. The impressive numbers also include 98 student-athletes who finished the spring term with a perfect 4.0 GPA.
- UofL Athletics achieved a department-record 93% Graduation Success Rate (GSR) in the latest report released in December by the NCAA. Louisville's 93% GSR beats the school's previous best mark of 92% achieved last year, as well as the 91% recorded in the previous two years before that. The GSR was developed 19 years ago to account for transfers, including mid-year enrollees, into the university who graduate and those who leave in good academic standing.
- Under the leadership of Jeff Brohm, the Cardinals won 10 games for the first time since 2013 and advanced to their first ACC Championship game appearance in Charlotte.
- Anna DeBeer led the women’s volleyball to its third-straight Elite appearance before falling to Pitt. She was named the ACC Player of the Year and AVCA East Region Player of the Year after leading team in kills (392), points (438.5), and double doubles (12).
- The men’s tennis double tandem of Etienne Donnet & Natan Rodrigues advanced to the NCAA Semifinals for the first time in school history before falling to the doubles team from Ohio State.
- Jayden Ulrich became the first women’s Track and Field athlete to finish in the top five in multiple events at the same NCAA Championship. She was named the ACC Women’s Field Performer of the Year and the Southeast Region Woman of the Year. Ulrich qualified for the 2024 Olympics in the discus throw for the United States.
- The Swimming and Diving program had three players punch their tickets for the Olympics. Murilo Sartori won the Brazilian national championship in the 200 freestyle to lock in a berth at the Olympics for Brazil's 800 Free Relay team. Nicolas Albiero, who posted lifetime best as he earned gold in the men's 200m butterfly with the winning time of 1:55.52. Else Praasterink punched her ticket to Paris in February by finishing in the top 12 in platform at the World Aquatics Championships in Doha, Qatar.

- Louisville posted a 16-14 record in ACC play, tied for sixth overall in the conference and finishing only behind five teams that received national seeds in the NCAA Tournament.
- Evan Webster and Gavin Kilen earned All-ACC honors, while Zion Rose was named to the ACC All-Freshman Team.
- Zion Rose was named a Freshman All-American after a stellar first season. Rose led the Cardinals with a .380 batting average. He finished with 19 extra-base hits, 32 RBIs, 42 runs scored and 10 stolen bases, and led all ACC freshmen in batting average during the regular season. Rose hit .396 in ACC games, the second-best mark of any player in the conference. Rose led the Cardinals in conference play in average, hits, runs, triples and on-base percentage.
- Tucker Biven, Patrick Forbes and Zion Rose all received invitations to USA Baseball Collegiate National Team Training Camp.
Men's Basketball

- Louisville posted an 8-24 record with a 3-17 mark in conference play. The Cardinals picked up ACC victories over Miami on the road and Florida State and Georgia Tech at home.
- On March 28, 2024, Director of Athletics Josh Heird announced the hiring of Pat Kelsey as the new men’s basketball head coach. Kelsey’s contract extends through the 2028-29 season.
- Kelsey is an established winner with 12 seasons as a head coach, including three at the College of Charleston and nine at Winthrop. His career record is 261-22 (68.1%) which includes four NCAA Tournament bids and 11 total conference championships.

- The women’s basketball team began the year with a gold medal as they won the 2023 GLOBL JAM Tournament up in Toronto in July. The Cardinals represented the United States and defeated the hosts, Team Canada, in the gold medal game. Sydney Taylor hit the game-winning three-pointer with under a minute left to clinch the tournament.
- Louisville became the 27th program all-time to achieve 1,000 program wins in its program history. The Cardinals defeated Duke on Jan,. 4 to clinch the 1,000th all-time win in the program’s 49th overall season. The Cardinals were the fourth ACC program to reach 1,000 all-time wins.
- The Cardinals finished the season with a 24-10 record and were 12-6 in ACC play. It was the 14th-straight season they have won 20 or more games, the fifth-longest active streak in the country. Louisville finished fifth in the ACC and they are the only program to finish fifth or better in each of the last 10 seasons.
- Olivia Cochran recorded her 1,000th career point in the road win over Miami on Dec. 31. She is the 33rd player in program history to score 1,000 points or more in her Louisville career.
- Kiki Jefferson was selected in the third round of the 2024 WNBA Draft by the Minnesota Lynx. She became the 15th WNBA Draft Pick during Jeff Walz’s tenure with the Cards and the 17th draft pick in program history.

Cross Country

- The women's team placed ninth at the NCAA Southeast Regionals, their best finish at the event since 2017.
- Innocent Ntwali was named ACC Men's Freshman of the Week on Oct. 3, 2023 after his collegiate debut, marking the third straight season a Louisville male has won ACC Freshman of the Week honors.
- Sixteen Cardinals were named to the All-ACC Academic Team. Nine Cardinals on the women's side were honored by the conference – Temi Ariyo, Lauren Bettencourt, Amy Harding-Delooze, Heidi Meade, Lexie Paszkiewicz, Rylee Penn, Layla Roebke, Maddie Seaby, and Rhune Vanroose. Seven men were also recognized for Louisville in Nicky Alexander, Jason Krell, Forest MacKenzie, Ethan Meyer, Innocent Ntwali, Lucas Reguinho, and Chip Smith.
Field Hockey

- In 2023, the Cardinals posted a 15-7 overall record and made their fifth consecutive NCAA tournament appearance, reaching the quarterfinals for the third time in the last five years. Louisville also went 3-3 in ACC play and advanced to the semifinals of the conference tournament as the No. 3 seed.
- The Cards finished the season at No. 10 in the NFHCA Coaches' poll after spending 10 weeks ranked among the nation's the top 10, reaching as high as No. 4.
- Louisville boasted one of the top defensive units in the nation, standing second in the ACC and fifth in the NCAA with a 1.08 team goals against average.
- UofL tied a program-high with seven student-athletes on the NFHCA Division I All-West Region teams. Mia Duchars, Emilia Kaczmarczyk, Julie Kouijzer were selected the first team while Aimee Plumb, India Reed, Minna Tremonti and Merlijn van der Vegt earned second team honors.

- The Cards finished with a 10-4 overall record and a 7-1 ACC record, which also featured the school’s first appearance in the ACC Championship Game, falling 16-6 to Florida State. The 10-win season was the first for the Cardinals since going 11-2 in 2012.
- Head coach Jeff Brohm became the first coach to win 10 games in his first season as the head coach of the Cardinals.
- Louisville opened the season by winning six-straight games for the first time since the 2013 season. Louisville reached as high as No. 9 in the AP Poll and the College Football Playoff rankings. The Cards finished No. 15 in the final College Football Playoff Rankings – the third time finishing in the CFP Poll in its 10-year history.
- The No. 19 finish in the final AP Poll was the 12th appearance in the final poll and the highest ranking since 2013 when they finished 15th.
- Defensive lineman Ashton Gillotte was a first team All-Conference player and a second team All-American after finishing the season with 14.5 tackles for loss and 11.0 sacks.
- Center Bryan Hudson was named the Jacobs Blocking Trophy Award winner and was a first team All-ACC performer.
Men's Golf

- The Cardinals picked up their lone win, dominating the field at the General Hackler Championship.
- Sebastian Moss became the first player in school history to win back-to-back tournaments by winning the Bearcat Invitational and the Rod Myers Invite.
- Sebastian Moss earned All-ACC accolades.
- The trio of Max Kennedy, Sebastian Moss and Cooper Claycomb earned PING All-Region honors, while Kennedy was named to the Palmer Cup Team for the second-consecutive year.
Women's Golf

- Louisville had two individuals that advanced to the 2024 NCAA Regionals in Carmen Griffiths and Hana Ryskova. They competed in the East Lansing Regional and Ryskova tallied a top-20 finish as she tallied 2-over-par 218 and was tied for 16th overall.
- Ryskova competed in all 11 events for the Cardinals in her final collegiate season. She led the team with 16 over her 33 rounds at or under par. She had the highest individual finish of any Cardinal on the season (3rd, Boilermaker Classic) and was second on the team with four Top-20 finishes.
- Griffiths was another standout for the Cardinals this season, as she competed in 10 of the 11 events after missing a fall tournament to compete in Abu Dhabi. She led the team with six rounds in the 60’s, two Top-10 finishes and five Top-20 finishes. She was second on the team with 14 of her 30 rounds at par or better.
- Louisville as a team had seven Top-10 finishes and two Top-5 finishes on the season. Its best finish came at the Boilermaker Classic as they placed fourth overall of the 15 teams that competed.
Lacrosse

- The Cardinals finished the year at 8-11, which included a ranked win over No. 20 Clemson.
- Kokoro Nakazawa led the team with 61 goals scored, which was tied for the seventh most in single-season at Louisville.
- Nicole Perroni was named an IWLCA Second Team All-American USA Lacrosse DI All-America Honorable Mention, a First Team IWLCA West/Midwest Region selection, and an Inside Lacrosse All-America Honorable Mention for her outstanding 2024 season.
- Perroni, a graduate midfielder, tallied 45 goals and 10 assists in her final collegiate season. She ended her Louisville career on a 55-game point scoring streak and a 54-game goal scoring streak, both the longest streaks in program history.
- Sydney Kirchenheiter played her 79th game, setting a new program record for games played.
Rowing
- Louisville posted an eighth-place finish at the 2024 ACC Rowing Championships.
- Claire Carver-Ritter was named to the All-ACC third team.
- The Cardinals placed seven student-athletes on the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association Scholar Athlete list and 24 on the All-ACC Academic Team.
Men's Soccer

Women's Soccer

- Louisville went 4-9-5 on the season and was 3-5-2 in ACC play for the 2023 season. Nine different players scored for the Cardinals, they tallied four clean sheets as a team, and they allowed one goal or fewer in nine games over the year.
- The Cardinals earned their first win in program history over Duke in the season finale with the 1-0 victory over the 25th-ranked Blue Devils. Emma Hiscock scored the game’s only goal in the first half and Erynn Floyd notched her fourth clean sheet of the season.
- Louisville picked up its first ever point in program history against Virginia in the 1-1 draw against the 20th-ranked Cavaliers on Sept. 16. Lucy Roberts put the Cardinals up in the second half and Erynn Floyd made four saves in the draw.
- Lucy Roberts was named Third Team All-ACC following the season. The graduate transfer defender started 17 games, played a team-best 1,441 minutes, and scored two goals and recorded four points. Her first goal of the season came in the 1-1 draw over No. 20 Virginia.


Softball

- In the midst of a challenging slate with a strength of schedule rated No. 28th nationally, the Cardinals posted four wins against top-25 teams including ACC champion and Women's College World Series participant Duke.
- As a team, Louisville turned 21 double plays, standing third in the conference and seventh on the program's all-time list.
- Senior Riley Frizell was named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Southeast Region first team. Frizell and fifth-year senior Daisy Hess earned All-ACC third team honors.
Men's Swimming & Diving
- The Louisville men finished 15th at the NCAA Championships, the program's 12th consecutive top 15 finish.
- Denis Petrashov (100 breast), Murilo Sartori (200 free) and Ilia Sibirtsev (1650 free) each finished top eight at the NCAA Championships to earn First Team All-America status.
- Ten different Cardinals earned All-America honors overall.
- The Cardinals finished fourth at the ACC Championships, capturing a pair of titles. Ilia Sibirtsev won the 500 free, while the 800-free relay team took home the top spot on the podium.
Women's Swimming & Diving
- The Louisville women’s swimming and diving team finished sixth overall at the NCAA Championships, its seventh top six finish in the last nine NCAA Championships.
- Christiana Regenauer, Julia Dennis and Gabi Albiero finished fourth, fifth and sixth in the 50 free, respectively, marking the first time in program history with three women in the top eight in the event.
- Else Praasterink finished fourth in platform diving, the highest-ever finish in a diving final by a Cardinal in school history.
- Twelve different Cardinals earned All-America honors.
- The Cardinals finished as the team runner-up at the ACC Championships, their best finish since 2017.
Men's Tennis

- Louisville finished with a 14-14 overall record and climbed as high as 27th in the ITA Team Rankings in the spring. The Cardinals finished the year ranked 53rd after just missing an NCAA Tournament bid.
- The Cardinals had a doubles pair advance to the NCAA Championship Semifinals for the first time ever in program history. Etienne Donnet and Natan Rodrigues earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Doubles Championships as a top-eight seed, securing All-American status for the tandem. After knocking off the top pair in the country in Duke in the quarterfinals, the Cards lost in a heartbreaking match against Ohio State in the semifinals; the Buckeyes went on to win the national championship. Donnet and Rodrigues finished the season at No. 4 in the ITA Doubles Rankings, the highest ranking ever achieved by a Louisville duo.
- As singles players, Etienne Donnet finished his career as a Cardinal at No. 82 in the ITA Singles Rankings. Natan Rodrigues was also ranked in singles at No. 112 to finish the year.

- Jayden Ulrich became the first female in program history to earn multiple top-five finishes at the same NCAA meet, finishing as the runner-up in the women's discus and fourth in the women's shot put at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. Ulrich won ACC titles in the discus (outdoor) and shot put (indoor & outdoor), setting a new ACC Championships meet record in the discus (61.31m) while also setting a new ACC conference record in the event (64.29m) earlier in the season.
- Soledad Jean (high jump) and Natalie Lark (pole vault) earned Honorable Mention All-America honors at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
- The Cardinals set four new school records (1500m - Rylee Penn, 4x400m relay - McKenzie Bell, Taylor Boggess, Ruby Nwosu and Sophia Day, shot put - Jayden Ulrich, discus throw - Jayden Ulrich) and two freshman records (triple jump - Sophia Day, pole vault - Iliana Triantafyllou).

- Anna DeBeer was named AVCA East Region Player of the Year. Elle Glock, Charitie Luper, Aiko Jones, Cara Cresse and Elena Scott were voted to the First Team and Phekran Kong was voted HM All-East Region.
- Anna DeBeer was named ACC Player of the Year. Elena Scott was ACC Defensive Player of the Year. Charitie Luper joined those two on the First Team All-ACC. Aiko Jones, Elle Glock and Cara Cresse were voted Second Team All-ACC.
- The Cards ranked seventh in the nation in attendance at 3,608 per match. This included a crowd of 12,760 in the KFC Yum! Versus Kentucky and 11.461 versus Pitt also at the Yum!
- Aiko Jones ended her career at 1,344 career kills. Elena Scott hit the 1,000 Career Dig Club as the 11th Card to do so. She is at 1,352 after setting a career-high 29 at NC State.
