Women’s Golf Leads Riverbend Intercollegiate After Two Rounds

The Cards are at the top of the leaderboard at 2-over-par
SUGAR LAND, Texas — The Louisville women's golf team is off to a great start at the Riverbend Intercollegiate as they are in first place after the first two rounds of play on Monday from the Riverbend Country Club. The Cards paced the field in the opening round with a 4-under-par 284 and are 2-over-par 578 as a team heading into the final round.
Freshman Emree Cameron tied for the lowest individual round for the Cards with a 2-under-par 70 in the first round. She had five birdies over the course of the round. In the second round, she was 1-over-par 73 with two birdies. Cameron is the top individual for the Cards on the leaderboard as she is fifth overall at 1-under-par 143 through the first two rounds.
One stroke behind Cameron on the leaderboard is junior Millie Cottrell. In the first round, she fired an even-under-par 72 with four birdies on the round. In the second round, she put together an even-par 72 with one birdie. She is sixth overall at even-par 144 heading into the final round.
Senior Thienna Huynh tied with Cameron for the low round of the day with a 2-under-par 70 in the first round. She had four birdies in her opening round. Huynh was 3-over-75 in the second round and is tied for seventh overall at 1-over-par 145 through the first two rounds.
Sophomore Bailey Burkett was another Cardinal that had an even par round or better on the first day of the Riverbend Intercollegiate. She carded an even-par 72 in the first round with five birdies. Burkett was 2-over-par 74 in the second round and is tied for 11th at 2-over-par 146.
Rounding out the scoring for the Cardinals is sophomore Veronika Exposito. She was 2-over-par 74 in the first round and 5-over-par 77 in the second round. Exposito is tied for 27th overall at 7-over-par 151 heading into the final round.
