March 08, 2026 | Women's Golf
This is the second tournament of the spring season
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville women's golf team is back in action this week as they head back to the Lone Star state for the second time this year. The Cardinals are heading to Sugar Land, Texas to take part in the Riverbend Intercollegiate, hosted by Houston Christian. The Cardinals are one of 16 teams competing in the two-day event.
Louisville is coming off its first tournament of the spring season a few weeks ago when they hosted the Ninth Annual Moon Golf Invitational. In a field full of teams ranked in the Top 75, the Cardinals finished 14th overall and were led by Bailey Burkett. She finished tied for 13th overall at 2-over-par 218. She is tied for the team lead with three Top 20 finishes this season.
Burkett is leading the Louisville lineup this week at the Riverbend and will be joined by Veronika Exposito, Thienna Huynh, Millie Cottrell and Emree Cameron. Exposito, Burkett and Cottrell have competed in all six tournaments so far this season for the Cardinals. This will be Cameron's third tournament of her freshman campaign.
Huynh has the best individual finish of any Louisville golfer this season and it came the last time they were in the Lone Star State. She finished tied for eighth overall at the Sam Golden Invitational, which was hosted by North Texas in the beginning of the fall season. Exposito also had her best finish of the season at the Sam Golden, when she tied for 12th overall. Exposito is tied with Burkett with three Top 20 finishes this season.
The tournament will begin on Monday with the first round and second rounds and conclude with the final round on Tuesday. The first round will begin at 8:45 a.m. ET with a shotgun start on all holes.
