Women’s Golf in First Place After Opening Two Rounds of Bentwater Women’s Collegiate

Veronika Exposito leads the individual leaderboard at 1-under-par
ACWORTH, Ga. – The Louisville women's golf team finds itself at the top of the leaderboard following the first two rounds of the Bentwater Women's Collegiate on Monday at the Bentwater Golf Club. The Cardinals hold a 12-stroke lead over second place after a 26-over-par 602 through the first two rounds of the tournament.
In the first round of action, the Cards were 11-over-par 299. In the second round later in the day, the Cards were 15-over-par 303. The two team scores were the lowest of any of the team rounds on day one.
The Cardinals were led by sophomore Veronika Exposito, who sits at the top of the individual leaderboard after the first 36 holes of action. In her first round, she was 1-under-par 71 with three birdies over the first nine holes. In the second round, she was even-par 72 with two birdies. She is in the solo lead at 1-under-par 143 and is three strokes ahead of second place heading into the final round.
Fellow sophomore Bailey Burkett is tied for fifth overall at 7-over-par 151 after the first two rounds. She was 5-over-par 77 in the first round and then was 2-over-par 74 in the second round. She had one birdie in the first round and then had four birdies, including three on the back nine, in the second round.
Thienna Huynh is tied for 18th overall at 12-over-par 156. She was 1-over-par with two birdies in the first round but was 11-over-par 83 in the second round to finish the day.
Millie Cottrell is tied at 25th overall after a 13-over-par 157 in the first two rounds. She was 7-over-par 79 in the first round and improved to 6-over-par 78 with two birdies in the second round. Emree Cameron was also tied with Cottrell in 25th after a 13-over-par 157 in the first two rounds. She was 6-over-par 78 in the first round and 7-over-par 79 in the second round.
Competing as an individual, Madison Moman is tied for 31st overall at 14-over-par 158. She was 4-over-par 76 in the first round and then 10-over-par 82 in the second round.
The Cardinals will be back on the course for the final round on Tuesday as they are looking for their second-straight tournament win. The final round begins at 9 a.m. ET with a shotgun start on all holes. Fans can follow along with the live stats here or on our social media channels.
