Women’s Golf Travels to Bentwater Women’s Collegiate

The Cards are coming off the tournament win at the Riverbend Intercollegiate
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Fresh off its first tournament win of the season, the Louisville women's golf team is back in action this week. The Cardinals are heading down to Georgia to take part in the Bentwater Women's Collegiate. Hosted by Kennesaw State at the Bentwater Golf Club, the two-day tournament begins on Monday, March 23 and the Cards are 1 of 12 teams competing.
The Cardinals lineup consists of Millie Cottrell, Thienna Huynh, Emree Cameron, Bailey Burkett and Veronika Exposito. It is the same five players that competed and came home with the tournament title at the Riverbend Intercollegiate back on March 10. Madison Moman is also competing as an individual in the tournament.
A number of Cardinals had season and career best marks at the Riverbend Intercollegiate down in Texas. Cottrell led the Cards with an even-par 216 for the tournament and finished tied for fourth overall. It was her career-best 54-hole score and second best individual finish for her career.
Cameron had the best finish of her freshman season at the Riverbend. She was 3-over-par 219 for the tournament and tied for eighth overall. It was her best individual finish and best 54-hole score in her fourth tournament of the season.
Burkett finished tied for 10th, her best individual finish of the season as well. Burkett has finished in the Top 15 a team-best four times this season. Huynh finished seventh overall after a 2-over-par 218. It was her best finish of the season so far.
The first and second round is set for Monday as the teams will play 36 holes throughout the day. Then the final round will be played on Tuesday. Fans can follow along with the live stats here or on our social media channels.
