Gorbenko Heads to 100 Breaststroke Finals After Prelims on Day 2 of NCAAs

Gorbenko finished fourth overall in prelims with a time of 57.52
ATLANTA – University of Louisville swimmer Anastasia Gorbenko will represent the Cards in tonight's 100 breaststroke finals as action at the 2026 NCAA Division I Women's Swimming and Diving Championships continues at Georgia Tech's McAuley Aquatic Center in Atlanta.
The morning competition started with the 100 fly prelims, where sophomore Caroline Larsen finished sixth in her heat with a 51.77. Senior Ella Welch followed with a fifth-place time of 51.32 in her prelim heat, taking home Honorable Mention All-American honors at 15th overall.
In the 200 free, Summer Cardwell posted a 1:45.61 to place sixth in her heat. Daria Golovaty took seventh in her heat, turning in a 1:44.01.
In the 100 breast, Gorbenko won her heat and placed fourth overall with a prelims time of 57.52, clinching a spot in tonight's championship final. Mia Cheatwood finished fourth in her heat and 14th overall, claiming Honorable Mention All-American honors clocking a 58.79.
