Louisville Finishes 14th at Moon Golf Invitational

Bailey Burkett tallied her third Top 20 finish of the season
MELBOURNE, Fla. — The Louisville women's golf team has finished 14th overall after the final round of the Moon Golf Invitational from the Suntree Country Club on Tuesday. The Cardinals put together their best team round of the tournament with a 10-over-par 298 in the final round and they finished ahead of two teams ranked in the Top 50.
Sophomore Bailey Burkett tied her best round of the tournament with another even-par 72 in the final round on Tuesday. She finished tied for 13th overall at 2-over-par 218 for the tournament and the 13th place finish is tied for her highest individual finish of the season. She is tied for the team lead with three Top 20 finishes this season.
Veronika Exposito also put together an even-par 72 in the final round with two birdies on the day. Exposito finished the tournament tied for 37th overall at 6-over-par 222. Thienna Huynh was 6-over-par 78 in the final round and finished the tournament tied for 66th with a 13-over-par 229.
Millie Cottrell rounded out the team scoring for the Cardinals with her best round of the week. She was 4-over-par 76 in the final round with three birdies, which tied for the team best on the day. She finished the tournament 78th overall at 17-over-par 233.
The Cards will be back in action on March 9, when they travel down to the Lone Star state. The Cardinals will take part in the Riverbend Intercollegiate, hosted by Houston Christian at Riverbend Country Club. The two day tournament will be held from March 9-10 and it will be the second of four spring tournaments for the Cards before the ACC Championship.
