Cardinals Continue Homestand with Clemson

Louisville is 7-0 at home this season
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Louisville women's soccer team (8-2-0, 1-1-0 ACC) continues its three-game homestand with another ACC foe this weekend. The Cardinals welcome the Clemson Tigers (3-1-5, 0-0-2 ACC) to Dr. Mark and Cindy Lynn Stadium on Friday, September 19. It is the Cards All In, Mental Health Awareness match and it will kick off at 7 p.m. ET and be streamed on the ACC Network Extra.
The Cardinals continued their strong play at home coming off the 1-0 win over Virginia Tech this past Sunday. Emersen Jennings scored the game-winning goal in the 82nd minute to break the deadlock and secure the win for the Cards. It was the latest game-winning goal the Cardinals have scored in regulation since Anouk Denton scored in the 90th minute in the 2021 season. With the result over the Hokies, Louisville picked up its eighth win of the season, the most since the 2019 season.
With the win over the Hokies, the Cardinals improved to 7-0 at home this season. Louisville has been strong on both sides of the ball at home this season, as they have outscored opponents 37-2 over the seven games. They are averaging 5.3 goals per game at home and have scored multiple goals in six of the seven home games. Defensively, the Cards have tallied a clean sheet in each of their last five home games. They have a clean sheet in six of their seven home games this season.
On the season, Louisville continues to have one of the best offenses in the country. They lead the NCAA with 43 assists, 119 points and a +32 goal differential. The Cardinals are tied for the NCAA lead in goals with 38.
Sophomore midfielder Amelia Swinarski leads the NCAA with nine assists and is tied for the NCAA lead with 21 points. Her and Mackenzie Geigle are tied for fifth in the ACC and tied for 23rd nationally with six goals on the year. Senior goalkeeper Erynn Floyd is tied for the ACC lead and tied for fifth nationally with six shutouts on the season.
