Cards fall 14-2 at No. 15 Clemson
CLEMSON, S.C. – The University of Louisville lacrosse team fell 14-2 to No. 15 Clemson in an Atlantic Coast Conference matchup Sunday afternoon at the Clemson Lacrosse Complex.

Izzy Seikel and Lauren Figas each registered a goal while J Pleck collected nine saves and Hanna John had three stops in the contest for Louisville (5-6, 1-4 ACC).

Clemson (7-4, 3-2 ACC) attacked early to start the game with Pleck turning back a pair of shots before the Tigers got on the scoreboard midway through the first quarter. After another Tiger goal, Cardinals broke through when Seikel found the back of the net to cut the deficit in half with 2:58 left to play. The Tigers quickly answered to close the frame with a 3-1 lead.

The second quarter saw Clemson tack on four more goals to enter halftime up 7-1.

After the break, the Tigers added another goal before Figas connected on a free position shot to make the score 8-2 with just under five minutes remaining in the third quarter. Clemson would go on to tally six unanswered goals for the 14-2 final.

Lindsay Marshall paced the Tigers offensively with six goals as the Tigers held the advantage in shots on goal (26-11) and draw controls (12-6). Olivia Scroggie led the Cardinals with a career-high four ground balls and three caused turnovers. Abigail Cole earned a career-high four draw controls.

Louisville will continue ACC play when No. 5 Stanford visits UofL Lacrosse Stadium Saturday at 12 p.m.
