The University of Louisville lacrosse team step away from Atlantic Coast Conference play with a midweek contest at Xavier.
OPENING DRAW
• The Cardinals enter the game with a 4-5 record following an 18-5 loss at top-ranked Boston College on Sunday. Wednesday's matchup will mark the second of three straight road games for Louisville.
• Sophomore Reese Whiteman paces the team with 13 goals.
• Junior Negai Nakazawa leads the Cardinals with 18 points and seven assists. She is tied for second on the team with 11 goals.
• Nakazawa has scored at least one goal in eight of Louisville's nine games this season.
• Graduate senior Ashley Osborne leads the team with 15 ground balls and has accumulated 96 in her career, needing four more to become the eighth player in program history with 100 or more ground balls.
• Sophomore Cate Kangas leads the team with 12 caused turnovers and stands second behind Osborne with 14 ground balls.
• Freshman Olivia Scroggie paces the team with 33 draw controls including a career-high seven in the 13-10 loss at Marquette.
• J Pleck (4-5) has posted 84 saves - including a career-high 16 against Vanderbilt while logging 472:54 minutes in goal this season. She recently surpassed the 200 save mark, becoming the seventh player in program history to do so.

Last Meeting: March 27, 2024 - Nine different Cardinals scored as the Louisville women's lacrosse team grabbed a 15-7 victory over Xavier at L&N Stadium. Kokoro Nakazawa led with four goals and two assists while Kylea Dobson recorded three goals on the night.
• Xavier's Kirra Crowley recorded two goals while goalie Marina Piszczor had 11 saves.
Scouting the Musketeers: Xavier enters Wednesday's game with a 1-6 record following a 14-12 loss to Wofford. Prior to that, the Musketeers defeated Gardner-Webb 13-5 in their home opener.
• Lola Mancuso leads the team with 25 goals and has dished out three assists for 28 points. Julie Cassidy stands second with 14 goals.
• The Musketeers swept BIG EAST Weekly honors with Morgan Handzel being named conference Freshman of the Week and Teegan Lannon tabbed the league Defensive Player of the Week.
• Meg Decker is in her third season at the helm after being tabbed to lead the program's first lacrosse team. The Musketeers' inaugural season was 2023.
