Offense Leads Cardinals to Seventh Straight Win

Louisville beat Oakland 13-5 on Wednesday night.
Louisville (14-2) has now won seven straight as it heads into conference play this weekend. The Cardinals will host No. 6 North Carolina in a three-game series beginning on Friday.
Oakland (3-15) scored the opening run of the game with run-scoring double in the third, but the Cardinals had a quick answer.
George Baker tied the game up with his first collegiate home run in the bottom half of the frame, and Matt Klein and Jake Munroe added RBIs later in the inning to put Louisville in front 3-1.
The Golden Grizzlies responded with four runs in the fourth to jump ahead 5-3 before Munroe's triple in the fifth made it 5-4.
The lead remained in Oakland's favor until the sixth, when Louisville's offense came alive. Baker tied the game with a run-scoring groundout and Zion Rose gave the Cardinals the lead for good with a two-run single through the left side.
Klein extended the lead with a RBI knock of his own and Munroe and Tague Davis followed with back-to-back home runs to finish off a seven-run sixth inning.
The Cards tacked on two more runs in the eighth, to give them 13 runs for the third time in the last four games.
Munroe and Garret Pike each had four hits in the win, with Munroe driving in four.
Jared Lessman threw a pair of scoreless innings in his first start at Louisville. Jake Gregor, Colton Hartman, Alex Gay and Casen Murphy closed the night out with a shutout frame each, with Gregor earning his first collegiate win.
