Cards Earn 4-3 Victory at Regional Rival Indiana

Louisville extends its win streak to four matches
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The University of Louisville women's tennis earn a 4-3 come from behind victory at Indiana Saturday afternoon at the IU Tennis Center. The Cardinals improve to 5-1 on the season and extends its win streak to four matches.
In doubles action, the duo of Alice Otis and Elisabeth Iila got the best of Li Hsin Lin and Nicole Sifuentes on Court 2, 6-3. The Spaniard duo of Elena Noguero and Berta Miret secured the doubles point after a 6-4 win on Court 3 to give the Cards an early 1-0 lead in the match.
Transitioning to singles action, UofL got down early losing on Courts 4, 2, and 3 to give the Hoosiers a 3-1 lead.
Louisville didn't back down however as Iila earned the first singles victory for the Cards at the No. 5 spot against Indiana's Magdalena Swierczynska 7-6, 6-3. On Court 1 Otis outlasted Nicole Teodosescu in three sets 6-0, 2-6, 6-4 to tie the match at three.
The match came down to Germany Davis on Court 6 after a thrilling third set tiebreaker gave the Cardinals the win, 7-5, 3-6, 7-6 (8-6).
UofL will open ACC play next Sunday as they travel to Dallas to face a new conference opponent in SMU. First serve is slated for 1 p.m. ET at the Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex.
