Cardinals Travel to No. 13 Wake Forest

This is the second-straight ranked opponent the Cards have on the road
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Louisville women's soccer team (10-3-0, 3-2-0 ACC) is back on the road in the middle of a three-game road swing and another ranked opponent is on deck. The Cardinals head south to Winston-Salem to take on No. 13 Wake Forest (9-2-2, 3-1-1 ACC) Thursday night. The Cards and Demon Deacons will square off at 7 p.m. ET and it will be streamed on the ACC Network Extra.
Thursday's match will be important in the ACC standings as we hit the halfway point of the ACC season. The Demon Deacons are currently in fifth place with 10 points on the season and the Cardinals are sixth with nine points. The top 6 teams in the conference advance to the ACC Tournament at the end of the regular season.
Earlier this week, sophomore midfielder Amelia Swinarski was one of 35 players named to the Midseason Hermann Trophy Watch List. She leads the team with seven goals, nine assists and 23 points this season. She leads the ACC and is tied for second nationally in assists, third in the ACC and tied for 11th nationally in total points. The nine assists is currently fourth in program history for most in a single season.
This will be the ninth all-time meeting between the Cardinals and Demon Deacons and the Cardinals trail the all-time series 3-4-1. The Cardinals are 1-4 all-time in games played at Winston-Salem but Louisville has won three of the last four matches against Wake Forest dating back to the 2018 season.
