Cardinals Finish Third at Pirate Collegiate Classic

Madison Moman tallied a hole in one in the final round
GREENVILLE, N.C. — The Louisville women's golf team finished in third place after the final round of the Pirate Collegiate Classic Tuesday afternoon from the Greenville Country Club. The Cardinals recorded a final round of 4-over-par 292 as a team to finish the tournament at 6-over-par 870. It is the second-lowest team tournament score of the fall season for the Cards.
Madison Moman made all the noise in the first three holes of the round. After a par on the first hole, she sunk her approach shot from 115 yards out on the second hole for an eagle. On the very next hole, Moman sunk a hole in one for her second-straight eagle to begin the round. She had two other birdies in the final round and finished a team-best 12th overall at even-par 216.
Veronika Exposito ended the tournament tied for 15th overall at 2-over-par 218. In her final round, she was even-par 72 with two birdies and she carded an eagle on the final hole of the round. It is Exposito's third Top 20 finish of the fall season.
Millie Cottrell finished tied for 24th overall at 4-over-par 220. The 220 score is tied for her lowest 54-hole score of the season so far. Cottrell was 1-over-par 73 in the final round with one birdie.
Bailey Burkett was one stroke behind Cottrell at 5-over-par 221 and she finished tied for 26th overall. She was 2-over-par 74 in the final round with two birdies.
Emree Cameron rounded out the team for the Cardinals as she finished tied for 30th overall at 6-over-par 222 in her first collegiate tournament. She was 4-over-par 76 in the final round on Tuesday.
The Cardinals return to campus and will prepare for their final tournament of the fall season next week. Louisville will head to Chapel Hill to take part in the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational, starting next Friday, October 19.
