Cards Host Unbeaten Belmont on Tuesday
October 06, 2025 | Men's Soccer
Louisville has not lost a nonconference game this season.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The University of Louisville men's soccer team returns home Tuesday evening to face unbeaten Belmont at Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. ET on ACCNX.
The Cardinals (5-4-1, 1-4-0 ACC) look to get back on track after a stretch of tight conference results, including a 1-0 defeat to North Carolina on Friday. Louisville remains undefeated in nonconference play this season, posting wins over Southern Indiana, UAB, and Ohio State, along with a draw against No. 18 Kentucky.
Under seventh-year head coach John Michael Hayden, Louisville holds an 8-0 all-time record against Belmont, including a 3-0 victory in their last meeting in 2019. Hayden is 1-0 against the Bruins in his career.
Belmont (6-0-4, 1-0-1 MVC) enters Tuesday's match as one of the nation's few remaining unbeaten teams. The Bruins have registered four shutouts through 10 matches and have allowed just eight goals on the season. Offensively, Brock Kiper and Jaxon Stokes pace Belmont with four goals apiece.
The Cardinals' attack is led by Chase Vazquez, who has three goals and two assists on the year, including the game-winner in Louisville's upset of No. 1 Stanford earlier this season. Freshman Nicholas Parham and sophomore Michael Lee have each added two goals and two assists, while redshirt junior goalkeeper Alex Svetanoff anchors the defense with five shutouts and 29 saves.
Louisville will look to extend its perfect mark in the series and maintain its strong nonconference form before resuming ACC play on the road at Virginia Tech later this week.
