KANSAS CITY, MO – University of Louisville men's soccer sophomore forward Andrés Escudero Martín was named to the 2026 Hermann Trophy Midseason Watch List, United Soccer Coaches announced Friday.
Escudero is one of 30 NCAA Division I men's soccer players selected to the midseason watch list for the award, which is presented annually by the Missouri Athletic Club and recognizes the nation's top collegiate soccer player.
The San Sebastián de los Reyes, Spain, native has emerged as one of the Cardinals' top offensive threats in his first season at Louisville after transferring from Evansville.
Escudero Martín leads the Cardinals with six goals and 12 points through 10 matches this season, while ranking second in the ACC in goals. He has recorded 17 shots and 11 shots on goal.
The sophomore opened his Louisville scoring account with a penalty-kick goal at Kentucky before scoring in the Cardinals' 1-1 draw against No. 14 Indiana. He added a goal in Louisville's 3-2 win over California and scored the game-tying goal against Boston College.
Escudero Martín then delivered his first multi-goal performance as a Cardinal, scoring twice in Louisville's 3-0 victory over Belmont on Sept. 21. He has scored in three consecutive matches at one point this season and has helped Louisville enter Friday night's match against NC State with a 7-1-2 record.
He was also selected to the 2026 Hermann Trophy Forwards to Watch List during the preseason and was ranked No. 62 in the TopDrawerSoccer Preseason Top 100.
The Hermann Trophy Midseason Watch List was compiled by members of the Hermann Trophy Midseason Watch List Committee. Fifteen semifinalists will be announced Dec. 4 following the conclusion of NCAA Division I All-American voting. Head coaches who are members of United Soccer Coaches will then vote to determine three finalists, with the 2026 Hermann Trophy recipient to be announced Jan. 8, 2027, at a ceremony at the Missouri Athletic Club in downtown St. Louis.
