Women's Swimming Ranks No. 9, Men are No. 13 in CSCAA Preseason Poll
September 26, 2024 | Swimming & Diving
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The University of Louisville women's swimming and diving team were voted No. 9 and the men were voted No. 13 as the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) released the Preseason edition of the Division I Top 25 dual meet poll.
The committee, consisting of Division I coaches, assesses and ranks the nation's top 25 dual meet teams. Their evaluation takes into account head-to-head dual meet outcomes, performances since the last rankings, season-long performances, dual meet records, roster changes (such as injuries), and data from the SwimCloud Simulator. It's important to note that the poll's objective is not to predict the top finishers in a championship meet format.
The Cal Bears (365) debut at the top of the men's poll to kick off the 2024-25 dual meet season, moving up two spots from their final position last year. A total of thirty-three programs across seven conferences received at least one vote in this season's initial poll.
On the women's side, the top-ranked Cavaliers (375 points) picked up where they left off the previous two years, coming in as the unanimous choice for the number one spot. T Twenty-nine programs across six conferences received at least one vote at the start of the season.
