
Swimming and Diving Announce 2024-25 Schedule

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The University of Louisville swimming and diving team unveiled the 2024-25 schedule that includes five home meets as the Cardinals prepare to gain momentum going into the postseason.

The season will open as it has the past five seasons with a matchup with Xavier on Oct. 4. The Musketeers have never beaten the Cardinals in the previous 15 matchups.

Next the Cardinals head to Dallas for the SMU Classic on Oct. 11-12, with this year being the first that the Mustangs are in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The event welcomes top competition from around the country and features eight swimmers and one diver from each competing institution. Each swimmer may compete in three events per day with one required to be a relay, and events are contested in two heats, with one swimmer from each school in each heat. Divers will compete on 1- and 3-meter.

UofL will host the University of Tennessee on Oct. 24 at the Ralph Wright Natatorium. Last year, the then-No. 12/3 University of Louisville men's and women's swimming and diving team split with the No. 6/6 University of Tennessee in a tightly contested meet in Knoxville. The No. 12 Louisville men upset No. 6 Tennessee 156-144. The No. 3-ranked Louisville women fell 152-148 to the Lady Vols at the Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center. Â

The Cardinal women and divers will travel to South Bend on Nov. 8 to face the Irish of Notre Dame while the Cardinal men will host Purdue in the Ralph Wright Natatorium.

Next up will be a trip to Columbus, where Ohio State in hosting a three-day invitational on Nov. 21-23 with a prelims and finals format, preparing the athletes for the postseason regimen.

The UofL divers will compete at the USA Diving Nationals on Dec. 7-15 in Bloomington.

The Cardinals will head to Missouri for a dual meet with the Tigers on Jan. 3 and then head to Lexington for a showdown with instate rival Kentucky on Jan. 25.

Louisville will host Indiana on January 31 in the Ralph Wright Natatorium. Last year, the two teams clashed along with Wisconsin in a double dual. The then No. 15-ranked Cardinal men beat No. 22 Wisconsin 165.5-130.5 and fell to No. 6 Indiana 189-110. The No. 8-ranked Cardinal women beat No. 14 Wisconsin 181-117 but fell 181-119 to No. 9 Indiana.

The Bearcats of Cincinnati will be the opponent in the final home dual meet of the season on Feb. 1 before the Cardinals will host the Louisville Invitational Feb. 6-7.

The ACC Championships are back at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, N.C. from Feb. 18-22 in a combined meet format with men and women.

UofL will host a Last Chance Meet on Feb. 28-March 1 at the Ralph Wright Natatorium.

The NCAA Diving Zones will be held March 10-12 in Columbus at Ohio State University.

Both the women's (March 19-22) and the men's (March 26-29) NCAA Championships will be held in Federal Way, Seattle as the final competition of the season.
