UofL heads to ACC Championship on Wednesday

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The University of Louisville women's tennis team dropped its matchup 4-0 with No. 21 Duke at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center on Sunday afternoon.

The Cards finish the regular season 0-13 in ACC play and 4-18 overall, while Duke wraps up their season 7-6 against the ACC and 14-8 overall.

Duke kicked off the afternoon by sweeping the doubles point winning at the No. 1 court 6-1, the No. 2 court 6-1, and the No. 3 court 6-3.

The Blue Devils kept the momentum as the match shifted to singles play, opening the scoring with No. 58-ranked Shavit Kimchi defeating Lillian Mould 6-1, 6-2 on court two. Duke's Brianna Shvets bested Louisville's Berta Miret 6-1, 6-3 on court five, followed shortly by No. 87-ranked Emma Jackson clinching the match for the Blue Devils with a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Jamilah Snells on court one.

As the match was played in clinch format, the remaining three singles matchups were abandoned.

With the conclusion of today's match, the regular season comes to an end for the Cards. Brackets for the ACC Tournament will be announced on Monday with tournament play beginning on Wednesday.
