
Cardinals Bow Out Of ACC Championship

Louisville falls to Virginia Tech 4-2
CARY, N.C. -- The University of Louisville women's tennis team bowed out of the 2024 Atlantic Coast Conference Championship, falling to No. 71 Virginia Tech Friday evening at the Cary Tennis Park.

The Cardinals fell 4-2 and ended their season with a 4-19 mark. The Hokies improved to 9-12 on the season and will face Clemson on Saturday evening.

UofL took the doubles point when the No. 1 pair of Allie Gretkowski and Lika Peresypkina took down the Hokie pair of Katie Andreini and Dariya Radulova. The point was clinched by Louisville's No. 2 pair of Jamilah Snells and Berta Miret who won 7-6 (6-4) for the point.

Louisville carried the momentum into singles when Lika Peresypkina made quick work of Katie Andreini at Court 2, winning 6-2, 6-1. Dariya Radulova beat Louisville freshman Berta Miret 6-3, 6-1 and then Cardinal Jamilah Snells fell 7-6 (7-5), 6-1 to Ozlem Uslu on Court 1 even the score. Louisville's Allie Gretkowski battled Laima Frosch at the No. 6 slot, going into three sets before falling  5-7, 6-3, 6-4 to give VT a 3-2 lead. The match came down to Court 3 where VT's Semra Aksu held off a tenacious Lillian Mould to win 7-6 (4-0), 2-6, 6-3 for the win.
