Cards Fall to No. 4 North Carolina

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville women's tennis team fell 4-0 to No. 4 North Carolina on Friday afternoon at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.Â
Louisville falls to 4-17 overall and 0-12 against ACC opponents. North Carolina improves to 18-3 overall and 11-1 in conference play
The Cards dropped the doubles point when Louisville tandem Jamilah Snells and Berta Miret fell 6-1 to Thea Rabman and Elizabeth Scotty on court two. The Tar Heels clinched the point with a win on court one when No.13-ranked pair Carson Tanguilig and Fiona Crawley downed Lika Peresypkina and Lillian Mould 6-2.Â
North Carolina scored first in singles competition when No. 48-ranked Tanguilig defeated Germany Davis 6-0, 6-2 on court three. Peresypkina lost 6-2, 6-2 to No. 34-ranked Scotty on court two before the Tar Heels clinched the match when No. 17-ranked Crawley defeated Snells 6-1, 6-2.Â
Although the teams were in clinch format, Miret outlasted Rabman 7-6 (16-14) in the first set for the longest tiebreaker of the season.Â
The Cardinals will remain at home for their final regular season match, facing Duke on April 14 at noon.Â
