Cards Travel to No. 5 Syracuse on Saturday

This is the fourth ranked conference game for the Cards this season.
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The University of Louisville women's lacrosse team hits the road for another ranked ACC matchup at No. 5 Syracuse this Saturday, March 30. The draw is scheduled for 12 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on the ACCNX.
The Cardinals are currently 6-6 (2-3 ACC) after posting a 15-7 win against Xavier on Wednesday. The Orange are 8-3 (5-0 ACC) and are on a five-game win streak going into the weekend.
SERIES HISTORY
The Orange currently earn the record, winning 13 out of 14. The Cards' lone win came at home in 2018.
ABOUT THE CARDINALS
The Cardinals will return to conference play this weekend when they travel to No. 5 Syracuse. Louisville fell on the road to No. 12 North Carolina but recorded their second ACC win, upsetting No. 20 Clemson, 13-12. The Cards grabbed their first ACC win at Pitt (19-11) but dropped their first conference game of the season at home to Virginia Tech, 14-10. The Cards will have one more ACC away game with Duke (April 12). Louisville will face Virginia (April 6) and Notre Dame (April 18) at home to close out the ACC regular season. Last season, the Cards went 2-7 in the ACC. Louisville is 14-54 all-time in ACC play.
Kokoro Nakazawa, a senior from Yokohama, Japan, has tallied 38 goals, 19 assists, and 57 points in the first 12 games of 2024. She leads the team in all three categories. Kokoro had her 12th career hat-trick and ninth of the season with four goals in the win over Xavier on Wednesday.
Nicole Perroni is dominating on both sides of the field this season. Through the first 12 games, she has tallied 32 goals and six assists on 78 shots. She is first in the conference (fifth nationally) in caused turnovers per game with 2.73, first in the ACC (11th nationally) in free position goals per game with 1.18, and sixth in the ACC in draw controls per game with 5.09 (as of March 26). Perroni was named as an ILWomen Midseason All-American Honorable Mention on Thursday.

Emma Ward and Emma Tyrrell combined for 10 goals and 12 points to lead No. 5 Syracuse women's lacrosse to a 16-13 victory against No. 7 Loyola on Wednesday in the JMA Wireless Dome. With the win, which was the Orange's fourth against a top-10 opponent this season, 'Cuse improves to 8-3 on the year. Tyrrell scored a season-high six goals, while Ward also finished with six points on four goals and two assists. In addition, Savannah Sweitzer recorded the second hat trick of her career. A crowd of 1,238 gathered at the JMA Dome to watch the contest. The Orange have drawn more than 1,000 fans to every home game this season and lead the nation in attendance. Saturday's game is Senior Day for the Orange as they honor members of their senior class.
