Cardinals Fall to No. 38 Florida State

LOUISVILLE, Ky.--The University of Louisville women's tennis team fell 5-1 to No. 38-ranked Florida State Sunday afternoon at the Bass Rudd Tennis Center.
Louisville dropped the doubles point when the Florida State's duo of Vic Allen and Millie Bissett defeated Allie Gretkowski and Lika Peresypkina 6-1 for the first point. Anna Arkadianou and Maelie Monfils then clinched the point with a 6-1 victory over the tandem of Ibifuro Clement and Germany Davis.
In singles, the Cards Berta Miret was the first to fall, as Bissett dominated action 6-1 and 6-0. The second singles point was claimed by UofL's Elena Noguero when FSU's Eva Shaw's had a medical retirement. The Cardinals ultimately dropped the last two matches as Davis fell to Arkadianou 6-1, 6-0, and Kristyna Lavickova clinched the deciding point, defeating Gretkowski 6-2, 6-0, giving the Seminoles a 5-1 win.
Louisville will now look to bounce back on next Saturday at 1 p.m. when they host Xavier at the Bass Rudd Tennis Center.
