Cards Set to Host Xavier on Saturday

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville women's team will host the Xavier Musketeers at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center on Saturday, March 23 at 1 p.m. ET.Â

The Cardinals (4-11, 0-7 ACC) lost both of their matches over the weekend, falling 2-5 to Miami (6-3, 4-1 ACC) on Friday and 1-5 to Florida State (8-6, 2-3 ACC) on Sunday. The match against Miami was highlighted by two wins in singles competition. Germany Davis rallied on court three to defeat Antonia Balzert 2-6, 6-3, 6-2 before Berta Miret defeated Leonie Schuknecht on court four. The lone point of the match against Florida State was claimed by Elena Noguero on court six when the Seminoles' Eva Shaw medically retired.Â

Xavier (11-4) defeated Butler (10-9) 7-0 on Sunday. The Musketeers began the match by clinching the doubles point with wins on court two and three before sweeping the singles competitions with wins on all six courts. Sofia Mazzucato leads the team with 11 wins on singles court with her 6-0, 7-5 win over Butler's Elle Martin being her 10th straight victory.Â
