Louisville, Ky. – The University of Louisville women's tennis team fell 5-2 against No. 20 Miami Friday afternoon inside the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.

The afternoon began with the Hurricanes taking the doubles point. Miami's Audrey Boch-Collins and Alexa Noel defeated Germany Davis and Ibifuro Clement 6-0 on Court 3 to give the Hurricanes the upper hand. Jamilah Snells and Berta Miret then teamed up to defeat Leonie Schuknecht and Antonia Balzert 6-4 in a hard-fought battle on Court 2, making Court 1 the deciding point. The pair of Allie Gretkowski and Lika Peresypkina trailed 5-1 early on Court 1, but fought back within one set at 5-4 before Miami's Isabella Pfennig and Xinyi Nong prevailed 6-4 to earn the doubles point.

Singles action began with Miami earning two more quick points on Court 1 and 6. Elena Noguero fell 6-0, 6-0 to Xinyi Nong on Court 6, followed by Snells falling 6-3, 6-3 to No. 11 Alexa Noel on Court 1. The Cards earned their first point as Davis defeated No. 114 Antonia Balzert 2-6, 6-3, 6-2 on Court 3. Later, Gretkowski fell just short against No. 96 Audrey Boch-Collins 6-3, 1-6, 6-4 on Court 5, quickly followed by Miret tallying the Cardinals second point with her 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 win over Leonie Schuknecht on Court 4. The afternoon came to a close with a thrilling match on Court 2, as Peresypkina was edged out by No. 58 Isabella Pfennig 2-6, 7-2, 6-4 on Court 2.
