Lacrosse Opens Up Conference Play Against Virginia Tech at L&N Stadium

Louisville is 7-4 all-time against Virginia Tech.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville women's lacrosse team opens up their conference schedule with a home game against Virginia Tech on Saturday, Feb. 24 at L&N Federal Credit Union Stadium at 6 p.m.. The game will be broadcast on the ACC Network, the first of three games this season that are featured on the national stage.
Louisville is 7-4 all-time against Virginia Tech, dropping the last contest in Blacksburg, Va., 7-17.
The Cardinals are 1-3 this season with home win over Marquette on Feb. 16 and three losses on the road.

Virginia Tech used an explosive first half and strong defensive showing all game to pick up a 19-6 win over Queens (N.C.) on Wednesday afternoon. Claire Schotta and Ella Rishko scored four goals apiece, all coming in the first half, in Tech's second win in a row by 13 goals. However, it was transfer Kayla Downey that set the pace in points for Virginia Tech, as she logged six assists on the afternoon, the third-highest mark all-time in a single game by a Virginia Tech player.

- Nicole Perroni is already off to a hot start this season. Through the first four games, she has tallied ten goals and two assists on 25 shots. She is also the conference leader in caused turnovers per game with 2.5. Her four-goal showing against Marquette marked the 20th hat trick of her career. Playing 56 games in her career, the midfielder is currently on a program-high 40 game goal-scoring streak, which broke the previous record of 34 games. She is also on a 40 game point-scoring streak which ranks third in program history.
- Sara Addeche has continued to guard the net through the first four games of the season. She has recorded 51 saves and a .490 save percentage in 240:00 minutes at the net. She ranks first nationally in saves and first in the conference in saves per game this season. The senior tied a career-high 18 saves in the victory over Marquette, the second most saves in a single game across the nation this season. She allowed just nine goals, her lowest of the season.
