Cardinals Fall in Road Game at Lindenwood

Kokoro Nakazawa recorded her sixth career hat trick with three goals.
ST. CHARLES, Mo. – The University of Louisville women's lacrosse team fell to 1-3 this afternoon with a 12-9 loss at Lindenwood (3-0).
Five Cardinals scored this afternoon and Kokoro Nakazawa led the way with two assists and three goals, her sixth career hat trick and her third this season. Kylea Dobson added two goals and four ground balls and Negai Nakazawa tallied two goals, an assist, and four draw controls.
The Cards got off to a slow start, allowing four straight goals in the first quarter. Dobson halted the Lions' run with a goal assisted by Kokoro Nakazawa. However, Lindenwood closed out the first frame with another goal and the Cards were down 5-1.
Kokoro Nakazawa opened up the second quarter with an unassisted goal and Negai Nakazawa had a goal assisted by Tiffany Natoli with 8:59 in the half. Natoli grabbed another assist, this time to Kokoro – closing out the first half with a two-goal deficit.
The third period began with a goal of her own by Natoli, but Lindenwood responded with four straight goals that ended the third quarter.
Louisville had three unanswered goals in the fourth frame to close the gap to two, starting with a Nicole Perroni goal assisted by Kokoro Nakazawa. Lindenwood responded with two goals of their own and Dobson added another with 5:54 in the game.
Perroni ended with one goal, one assist, and four draw controls. Her goal-scoring streak extends to 40-straight games and she has scored 10 goals so far this season.
Goalie Sara Addeche tallied nine saves and allowed 12 goals with a .429 shot percentage.
Lindenwood's Alissa Diagiacinto led the way with four goals and Kiley Davis added three goals.
The Cardinals will return home to play their first conference opponent of the season in Virginia Tech on Saturday, Feb. 24. The first draw will take place at 6 p.m. ET at L&N Stadium. The game will be broadcast nationally on the ACC Network.
