Lindsey Mullen (1-0) earned her first collegiate win, holding the Hoyas scoreless and scattering three hits in four innings of work. Paige Geraghty went 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles and two RBIs and scored a run, Easton Lotus and Bailee Richardson had two hits apiece and Maddi Grant tallied two RBIs to help lead the Cardinals at the plate.
Â
The Cardinals jumped to an early lead with three runs in the first inning. Lotus delivered a leadoff single and walks to Daisy Hess and Kiley Goff loaded the bases for Riley Frizell whose ground ball sent Lotus home. Geraghty's two-out double plated Hess and Goff to put the Cards on top 3-0.

The third inning brought two more runs for Louisville. Back-to-back walks issued to Goff and Frizell set the table for Richardson's RBI single. One out later, Grant's sacrifice fly made the score 5-0.

Â
Georgetown (0-4) had a chance to push a run across in the top of the seventh, loading the bases with no outs after starting the inning with a hit batter, a single and a walk, but reliever Sam Booe fielded a double play to get outs at the plate and first base and then delivered a strikeout to end the game.
