Women's Tennis Wrap-up Fall Season at Roberta Alison Fall Classic

Tuscaloosa, Ala. – The University of Louisville women's tennis team wrap-up the fall season after competing in the Roberta Alison Fall Classic hosted by the University of Alabama. The Cardinals earned four doubles victories to go along with four singles wins over the course of the two-day event.
Competition began on Friday with doubles play as the duo of Berta Miret and Elena Noguero defeated Maria Guirguis and Valeriia Avdeeva of Troy, 7-5 to get the Cards in the win column early.
Lika Peresypkina and Allie Gretkowski earned the first of two wins over a pairing from Mississippi State, besting Carolina Troiano and Alessia Tagliente, 6-1.
UofL closed out doubles action with another win as Alice Otis and Elisabeth Iila made quick work of Jayna Clemens and Gianna Oboniye of Mississippi State, 6-2.
Transitioning to singles play, Iila kicked things off with a hard-fought win in three-sets, defeating South Alabama's Rio Maeda 6-2, 3-6, 7-6 (11-9).
Noguero found a way to beat ETSU's Ralitsa Alexandrova in three-sets, securing the second singles victory for Louisville, 7-5, 1-6, 6-3.
Saturday's action saw the duo of Peresypkina and Gretkowski secure their second doubles victory of the tournament, defeating the Bulldog's pairing of Athina Pitta and Emma Cohen 6-2.
Germany Davis earned her first singles win of the weekend after another three-set battle, defeating Alexandrova 7-6 (7-3), 3-6, 6-4.
Illa earned her second singles win of the weekend in straight sets, besting Tagliente 6-4, 6-4.
