No. 4 Cardinals Set to Host Notre Dame

Cards play the Irish at L&N Arena on Wednesday and then head to South Bend for a rematch
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The 4th-ranked University of Louisville volleyball team will play a home-and-home series against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish this week.
The Cards and the Fighting Irish will play at L&N Federal Credit Union Arena on Wednesday at 7 p.m. before playing in South Bend, Ind., on Saturday at 3 p.m.
Louisville is coming off a 1-1 weekend in the ACC following a 3-2 loss to No. 1 Pitt in Pittsburgh before beating No. 12 SMU 3-1 in Dallas. Outside hitter Anna DeBeer recorded her sixth and seventh double-doubles of the season against the Panthers and the Mustangs, making it the first time since 2021 she has posted double-doubles in three straight matches. DeBeer logged 38 kills and 29 digs on the weekend. Outside hitter Charitie Luper also recorded her sixth double-double of the season against Pitt, with 19 kills and 17 digs. Across both matches, Setters Elle Glock and Nayelis Cabello notched 64 and 45 assists, respectively. Glock recorded a new team-high 38 assists against Pitt.
UofL set new season highs for kills (70), total attacks (172), assists (70), and digs (78) in the match against Pitt, while setting a new season high in block assists against SMU with 30. The Cards move into first in the NCAA in blocks per set with 3.10 with middle blocker Cara Cresse moving into fourth in the NCAA in blocks per set with 1.61. Cresse had 14 block assists on the weekend, and middle blockers Phekran Kong and Reese Robins both knocked down 10 block assists through both matches.
Louisville is 24-23 in all-time meetings with Notre Dame. The last matchup between the Cards and the Fighting Irish saw UofL taking the win 3-0 in South Bend. Over the past ten meetings, Louisville leads 8-2, with the last loss to Notre Dame happening in 2020; the Fighting Irish beat the Cards 3-0 in Louisville.
