The Cards will face No. 18 TCU on Friday, Sept. 4 at L&N Federal Credit Union Arena, before traveling to Nashville to take on No. 9 Texas on Friday, Sept. 6.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The No. 6-ranked University of Louisville volleyball team will play a pair of top-20 matchups this weekend, squaring off against No. 18 TCU on Friday, Sept. 4, before taking on No. 9 Texas on Sunday, Sept. 6.

Friday's contest against the Horned Frogs will conclude a three-game homestand at L&N Federal Credit Union Arena. First serve is set for 4 p.m. ET, and the match will be broadcast on ACCN.

Sunday's showdown against Texas will start at 12 p.m. ET as part of the Sprouts Farmers Market Broadway Block Party at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn. The match will be broadcast on ABC, the first NCAA volleyball match of the season to be featured on the network.

The Cards are carrying momentum from back-to-back sweeps at home against No. 16 Indiana and (RV) Dayton. TCU and Texas will be Louisville's fourth and fifth top-20 matchups, respectively, in its first six matches of the season.

TEAM NOTES

The Cardinals dominated in their first match at home this season, sweeping No. 16 Indiana (25-20, 25-12, 25-11) on Aug. 28. UofL held it down defensively, allowing only 26 kills on a .043 hitting percentage, including holding the Hoosiers to negative hitting in the final two sets. The Cards' offense pushed the pace with 39 kills on a .346 hitting percentage.
The Cards' offense stayed hot against (RV) Dayton, earning 43 kills on a .487 hitting percentage, propelling its way to another convincing sweep (25-14, 25-14, 25-11). UofL also controlled the match defensively, holding the Flyers to just 24 kills on a .034 hitting percentage.
Louisville moved up to No. 6 in the AVCA/Taraflex Coaches Poll, climbing one spot from its preseason ranking of No. 7.

PLAYER NOTES

Outside hitter Chloe Meester powered the Cardinals offensively, recording 24 kills and four aces across the last two matches. Against Dayton, the sophomore earned a career-high 14 kills on 18 swings with no errors, posting a .778 hitting percentage.
Outside hitter Chloe Chicoine continued her hot start to the season, tallying 11 kills on a .409 hitting percentage while adding seven digs and three blocks against IU. Against the Flyers, the senior secured her first double-double of the season with 10 kills on a .556 hitting percentage and 11 digs, recording her 1,000^th career dig late in the second set.
Setter Nayelis Cabello facilitated the Louisville offense both nights, dishing 26 assists against the Hoosiers and 29 against the Flyers. She also totaled four kills, three aces, 10 digs, and three blocks between the two contests.
