Cardinals Finish in 11th at Tar Heel Invitational

Freshman Veronika Exposito led the team with a tie for 26th finish
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — The Louisville women's golf team completed the final round of the Tar Heel Invitational Sunday afternoon from Finley Golf Club. Louisville finished the weekend in 11th overall at 38-over-par 878 for the tournament. In the final round on Sunday, Louisville was 24-over-par 304.
Freshman Veronika Exposito ended up leading the way for the Cardinals for the weekend. She was consistent over her three rounds and tallied a 3-over-par 73 in the final round on Sunday. Exposito finished tied for 26th overall at 8-over-par 218 for the tournament.
Carmen Griffiths and Beatriz Barrios both finished tied for 30th overall at 10-over-par 220 for the tournament. Griffiths carded a 4-over-par 74 and Barrios tallied a 10-over-par 80 in the final round on Sunday.
Thienna Huynh was next for the Cards at 14-over-par 224 and tied for 48th in the field. She was 7-over-par 77 in the final round on Sunday.
Millie Cottrell finished 61st overall at 18-over-par 228. She was 10-over-par 80 for the final round on Sunday.
Gabbi Bentancourt was playing as an individual this weekend and finished tied for 77 overall at 26-over-par 236. She put together an 8-over-par 78 in the final round.
The Cardinals return to campus before they head out on their final tournament of the fall in a couple weeks. The Cardinals final tournament of the fall will begin on October 25 at The Robbie Tournament down in Huntsville, Alabama.
