Louisville will take on Indiana State, USF and UConn in Tampa, Fla., to begin the 2024 season.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The opening weekend of the season is officially set for the University of Louisville baseball team.
The Cardinals will open the 2024 season as part of a four-team round robin event at USF in Tampa, Fla.
Louisville will square off against Indiana State in the season opener on Feb. 16 at noon ET before taking on USF on its home field Feb. 17 at 4:00 p.m. ET. The weekend will conclude for the Cardinals with UConn on Feb. 18 at 9:30 a.m. ET.
All three of Louisville's opening weekend opponents have reached the NCAA Super Regional round at least once in the last three years.
Indiana State posted a 45-17 record in 2023, winning a home regional before seeing their season come to a close in the Fort Worth Super Regional against TCU.
USF was 21-39 last season, but is just three years removed from winning the Gainesville Regional before losing to Texas in the Super Regional round in 2021.
UConn was 44-17 one year ago, earning a No. 2 seed in the Gainesville regional. This will mark the third year Louisville and UConn have played on the opening weekend (2019, 2022).
