This is their first road game in ACC play
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — After playing six of their last seven games at home, the Cardinals are hitting the road for the first time in conference play this season. Louisville is heading to Coral Gables to take on the Miami Hurricanes to close out the weekend on Sunday afternoon. The Cardinals and Hurricanes will square off at 12 p.m. ET and the game will be streamed on the ACC Network Extra.
The Cardinals are currently on a three-game unbeaten streak and are coming off a 3-2 home win over Pitt this past Thursday. The Cards had a trio of players score their first goals of the year in the win. Senior Emma Hiscock opened the scoring in the first half with her first goal since the 2021 season after she missed the entire 2022 season. Sophomore Emersen Jennings and Mackenzie Geigle both scored in the second half as the Cardinals closed out the win. Geigle tallied her first collegiate goal while Jennings had her second in two seasons.
Sophomore Addie Chester tallied a point in her third-straight game when she was the lone assist on Jennings' goal in the second half. She leads the team with four assists and eight points on the season. Fiona Gaißer tallied her second assist in as many games as she had the primary helper on Hiscock's opening goal. Goalkeeper Erynn Floyd recorded six saves in the win, her fourth-straight game with four or more saves.
The Hurricanes enter the match with a 2-4-3 record on the season and are 1-1 in ACC play. They opened conference play with a win over Syracuse and dropped their most recent match against Clemson at home Thursday night. The Cardinals are 7-1-1 all-time against the Hurricanes and are 3-1-1 in games played in Coral Gables. The Cardinals have won each of the last six games against the Hurricanes and have won the last three straight in Coral Gables.
Following the road match against the Hurricanes, the Cardinals have another road game on deck. The Cardinals will travel to South Bend on Saturday, September 30 to take on Notre Dame.
