Cardinals Head to Evansville for Tuesday Match

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville men's soccer team travels west to take on Evansville on Tuesday night. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET and will be televised on ESPN+.
ABOUT THE CARDINALS
Louisville suffered its first loss of the season on Friday night in a 2-1 defeat against Virginia Tech. Quinton Elliot gave the Cards an early lead with a goal in the sixth minute, but Virginia Tech scored in the final four minutes of each half to secure the victory.
The Cardinals have been the first team on the scoreboard in all six matches this season. Louisville has netted a goal in the first 11 minutes of the match in each of the last four contests, including Elliot's strike against Virginia Tech.
SERIES HISTORY
Louisville trails the all-time series against Evansville 5-10-0, but the Cardinals have defeated the Aces each of the last two seasons. Louisville picked up a 2-0 victory over Evansville last October in Louisville behind two second-half tallies, including one from Brandon McManus.
ROED CLIMBING CAREER ASSISTS CHART
Louisville midfielder Sander Roed had one of the top assist seasons in program history in 2022, tying for the seventh-most in program history with eight.
Roed notched his 16th career assist on the opening goal against Virginia Tech, moving him into a tie for eighth all-time at Louisville.
Tim Kubel (2014-17) owns the program's career record with 26.
GUERRA ON OFFENSIVE SCORING BINGE
The reigning Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year at Army, Gage Guerra has been dynamic in his first run in a Louisville uniform.
The junior forward scored the opening goal in wins over Bellarmine and UNC Greensboro, earning him ACC Offensive Player of the Week and College Soccer News Team of the Week honors. He followed that up with a brace against Kentucky and again at Syracuse for his second straight ACC Player of the Week honor.
Guerra enters the week ninth nationally with six goals on the season, just one behind the national leaders. His six goals were the most by a Louisville player through five matches since at least 2001.
