Louisville took a 6-2 loss in the final game of the regular season on Saturday.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The season came to a close for the University of Louisville baseball team with a 6-2 loss to Florida State on Saturday at Jim Patterson Stadium.
Louisville finishes out the season with a 31-24 overall record and 10-20 mark in conference play. The Cardinals did not qualify for next week's ACC Championship.
The Cardinals scored the opening run on Saturday, with Gavin Kilen cashing in with a run-scoring single after Brandon Anderson led the inning off with a double into the left field corner.
Florida State (23-31, 9-21) answered back with a run in the top of the third as part of five straight scored by the Seminoles. They tacked on two more in the fifth and added another pair in the sixth to stretch the lead to 5-1.
Louisville got one back in the bottom of the sixth, but that was all the Cardinals would get the rest of the way.
Carson Liggett (7-2) allowed five runs on seven hits over 5.1 innings in his final start of the season.
Kilen was the lone Louisville player to pick up multiple hits on Saturday, going 2-for-3 and reaching base three times.
