Sarah Gordon registered her first collegiate grand slam along with career high five RBIs, Madison "Pickle" Winkler went 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs – all new career marks - and Easton Lotus delivered a three-run triple with a career-high four runs, also tying a school record for runs in a game. Additionally, Korbe Otis delivered a hit to reach base for the 32nd straight game, tying a school record.
Â
Gabby Holloway ((2-1) got the win in the circle, allowing four earned runs and striking out two in 2.2 innings of work.
Â
The Cardinals got on the scoreboard early when Sarah Gordon's sacrifice fly plated Easton Lotus to give Louisville a 1-0 lead.
Â
The second inning brought four more runs for the Cards as Winkler, Paige Geraghty and Otis each singled to set the table for Easton Lotus, who cleared the bases with a triple to right center field. Hannah File's groundout sent Lotus home.
Â
The Cards tacked on another run in the fourth when Gordon earned a leadoff walk and came around to score on a double by Winkler to extend the lead to 6-0.
Â
The RedHawks used a grand slam by Holly Blaska to make the score 6-4 in the top of the fourth.
Â
After an hour-and-four-minute lightning delay following the top of the fourth, the Cardinals' offense picked up where it left off. A hit, walk and an error loaded the bases for Gordon, who crushed a 1-2 pitch over the scoreboard in left centerfield for her first career grand slam. Daisy Hess followed with a double and came on Winkler's RBI hit to push Louisville's lead to 11-4.
Â
The Cardinals' final run came in the fifth when Lotus led off with a hit, moved to second on an error and moved around to score on a pair of wild pitches for the 12-4 final.
Â
Brianna Pratt (17-9) took the loss as Miami dropped to 23-15 on the season. Blaska led the RedHawks at the plate, going 3-for-3 with four RBIs.
