Cards will open the weekend at home against Miami (Ohio) Friday, then travel to Oxford, Ohio to face No. 1 Oklahoma Saturday and wrap up the weekend back at Ulmer Stadium with a Sunday doubleheader against Oakland
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville softball team will take a break from Atlantic Coast Conference play this weekend with games against Miami (Ohio), No. 1 Oklahoma and Oakland. The Cards will open the weekend at home against Miami (Ohio) Friday, then travel to Oxford, Ohio to face No. 1 Oklahoma Saturday and wrap up the weekend back at Ulmer Stadium with a Sunday doubleheader against Oakland

• UofL brings a 25-13 overall record into the weekend after falling 10-5 at Indiana on Tuesday.
• In 38 games, the Cardinals have produced 10 shutouts and eight wins via the eight-run rule.
• Louisville is batting .314 as a team with five players hitting above .300.
• Korbe Otis earned her third ACC Player of the Week nod of the season earlier this week following her impressive performance in the Notre Dame series last weekend in which she batted .900 (9-for-10) with a double, a triple and a home run while scoring four runs and driving in three.
• Entering the weekend, Otis leads the ACC and is tied for first the nation with seven triples. She also leads the team with a .444 batting average, 52 hits, 24 walks and 45 runs.

Head coach Holly Aprile is in her fifth season as UofL's head coach. During her time at the helm – which includes the COVID-19 impacted 2020 season, Aprile guided the Cardinals to 113 wins and an NCAA regional final appearance in 2019.
• Prior to her arrival at Louisville, Aprile, the 2018 ACC Coach of the Year spent 10 seasons (2009-18) as Pittsburgh's head coach and five years (2004-08) as an assistant. In 2018, she earned ACC Coach of the Year honors after leading the Panthers to the 2018 ACC Coastal Division title and a runner-up finish in the ACC tournament.

Scouting the Sooners: Two-time defending national champion Oklahoma enters the weekend as the top-ranked team in the nation. The Sooners carry a 37-1 overall record with their only loss of the season coming at the hands of Baylor on Feb. 19. Since that time, they have won 29 straight.
• Oklahoma leads the NCAA in team batting average (.373), ERA (0.88) and shutouts (23).
• Jayda Coleman leads the team with a .455 batting average and is tied with Haley Lee for the home run lead (11).
• Jordy Bahl (12-1) has shouldered the bulk of the pitching duties and carries a 1.30 ERA with 105 strikeouts in 81.0 innings of work.

Scouting the Golden Grizzlies: Oakland (12-12) brings a four-game win streak into the weekend following a three-game sweep of Detroit Mercy this week. Prior to that, the Golden Grizzlies defeated Green Bay on Sunday to clinch a Horizon League series.
• Reese Ruhlman leads the team with a .324 batting average while Jen Krizka has belted out a team-high five home runs with 19 RBIs.
• Sydney Campbell has logged 103.0 innings with a 1.50 ERA and 66 strikeouts on the season.
