Cardinals Set to Play Rescheduled Game against Cincinnati

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville lacrosse team steps out of Atlantic Coast Conference play to host Cincinnati on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. ET.
The Cardinals moved to 4-9 and 1-6 in the ACC after falling 17-7 to Virginia Tech on Saturday afternoon at Thompson Field.
Negai Nakazawa and Allegra Catalano led the team with two points each. Five other Cardinals all scored one goal. Rachel Lifson was the first person to score for the Cards. Kokoro Nakazawa earned her point on an assist from her sister. Lauren Figas and Alexa Steffens shot in one apiece. Negai Nakazawa and Catalano scored their goals in the fourth quarter and Izzy Seikel was the last person to score for the Cards, knocking in a free position goal with 14 seconds left in the game.
Sara Addeche and J Pleck split time guarding the net and each recorded four saves. Olivia Toll led the defense with four ground balls and four caused turnovers. Maggie Foster recorded three ground balls and two caused turnovers. Madi McKee had a team high three draw controls.
About the Bearcats
Cincinnati (9-5, 2-2) fell 18-8 to East Carolina on Saturday after fighting to bring the game withing 8-7 late in the third quarter. Camryn Callaghan recorded a hat trick and leads the team with 49 goals and seven assists. Callaghan also had four ground balls and one draw control. Five other Bearcats scored a goal in the matchup against ECU. Ava Goeller led the team with five draw controls, while Ashley Lapp guarded the net to record four saves.
Series History – The Cardinals are currently undefeated in the series, winning all 15 matchups. Last season, UofL won 16-9 at Cincinnati and Allegra Catalano led the Cards with four goals.
